25th Anniversary of the Belfast Good Friday Agreement March 17 2023, Carnegie Hall, New York
The Belfast Agreement was signed on Good Friday, 10 April 1998. It was an agreement between the British and Irish governments, and the political parties in Northern Ireland, which would establish a new, devolved government for Northern Ireland in which unionists and nationalists would share power.
In celebration of our achievements over the years and to mark the 25th anniversary of this momentous occasion in Irish history, CBOI will stage a special concert in Carnegie Hall, New York on 17th March 2023. The St Patrick’s Day event will provide outstanding visibility and recognition for you and/or your company, while closely aligning you with an organisation that symbolises peace, unity, tolerance, excellence, innovation, collaboration, inclusivity and engagement. Support Peace
The Cross Border Orchestra (CBOI) was established in 1995 as a fragile peace began to take root in Northern Ireland. Since then, CBOI has played an important role in building and nurturing vital cross border and cross community relations and is regarded internationally as a flagship peace initiative.
CBOI was formed as a direct result of peace in Northern Ireland. Over the years, our core message of peace, unity and tolerance has remained central to our ethos, and the reach and impact of our programmes has grown exponentially. Over 35,000 children participate in our Peace Proms programme each year, including 6,000 Catholic and Protestant children in Northern Ireland, while a further 350 young people participate in our orchestral and instrumental training programmes. Our performances unashamedly celebrate cultural diversity, unity and tolerance by incorporating Lambeg Drums, and Bodhrans; Highland pipes and Uilleann Pipes, Ulster Scots Dance and Irish Dance along with the full symphony orchestra.
CBOI and Peace Proms make the arts accessible to communities across Ireland and Northern Ireland regardless of their socioeconomic, cultural, religious or political background.
