CBOI Board Of Directors

The Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland Ltd is governed by a memorandum and articles of association. CBOI is managed on a day to day basis by a full time Chief Executive Officer, Sharon Treacy-Dunne. The CEO is ordinarily assisted by three full-time staff. CBOI’s Parents’ Association provides Invaluable support at all events. All strategic and operational management decisions are the responsibilities of the Board of Directors/Trustees who work in a voluntary capacity. The Board of Directors/Trustees are Paul O’Callaghan, Susan Forde and Jim D’Arcy. Weekly staff meetings and quarterly Board meetings are held, ordinarily.

Colmcille Pipe Band was founded in May 1978 in Derry by the Hasson family circle. One of the founding members is still a competing member of the band, Pipe Major Brian Hasson Sr. The strong ‘family’ bond continues in the band to this day.

She is a member of the celebrated Maynooth University Chamber choir which recently won the coveted John Mannion Award* at Cork International Choral Festival Cobhla gained recognition in 2016 when she sang the National Anthem at the Raising of the Flag’ ceremony to launch commemorations celebrating the foundation of the State.

Dance Hall Academy

Founded by ex-Riverdance and professional performers Lori Hall (A.D.C.R.G.) and Joey Comerford (Master’s Degree in Dance Education), Dance Hall Academy is an independent Irish Dance School. It strives to create a positive, upbeat, and inspiring learning environment where dancers can express themselves, be creative, and fall in love with the amazing art of Irish dance. Dance Hall Academy regularly provides and choreographs Irish dancers for Peace Proms as part of our shows. The dancers play very important parts in these events with their spectacular performances on stage.

The Michelle Johnston School of Highland Dance

The Michelle Johnston School of Highland Dance regularly provides and choreographs Highland/Ulster Scots Dancers as part of our shows. Established in Moneyreagh, Northern Ireland, in 2007 the school offers classes, the opportunity for dancers to become RSOBHD competitors, certified SDTA examinations and many performances.

The dancers play very important parts in these events with their spectacular performances on stage.

The Colmcille Pipe and Drum Corps

The Colmcille Pipe and Drum Corps from Derry/Londonderry regularly provides Pipers and Drummers for our shows.

The Colmcille Pipe Band, formed back in 1978, includes talented players from the North and South of Ireland.

This multi-award winning band plays a very important part in the CBOI Peace Prom events with which it is involved.
